Description
The Department provides an OpenStack-based cloud cluster. This experimental service offers a dedicated virtual environment (tenant/project) with a set of dedicated computing resources (VMs, virtual routers and networks, IPs, etc.) for activities such as research, degree theses, or specific educational projects.
How to Apply
To activate the service, send an email request to tecnici@cs.unibo.it. Your request must specify:

Institutional account to be enabled for cluster access

Role (professor, student, PhD student, thesis student, etc.)

Degree program
-
Supervising professor for the project (if applicable)

Estimated project end date
-
Name of the OpenStack tenant/project to be created or associated
Operating Instructions (First SSO Access)
To allow the system to register your account via Single Sign-On using your University credentials, you must perform an initial login:
- Go to: https://openstack.disi.unibo.it
- Log in using your Unibo Single Sign-On credentials.
- On your first attempt, the system will return the error: "Login failed: You are not authorized for any projects or domains."
- This behavior is normal: the first login registers your user profile in the system. Once this step is complete and you have sent the request email, the technical staff will be able to assign you to the relevant project/tenant and roles.
Please note that this is an experimental service, not a production environment, and therefore continuous technical support is not guaranteed.
