Computer vision

DISI carries out both theoretical and applied research in the field of computer vision, with particular focus on video analysis for video surveillance applications. In addition, the department works on embedded systems for computer vision that incorporate on board their own capabilities of visual processing differently from what is more usual in the classic use of video surveillance cameras: the development of embedded systems technology coupled to the use of high-performance image sensors, with great advantages in terms of cost and efficiency, has in fact brought many radical changes, opening the way to new and varied application scenarios.
